As I walked through the gates with Chopin,
Along side the street named Dan,
Macaroni and Cheese on stick,
got me sick,
I threw up all over some man.

Leticia Snow, Minneapolis, MN

Beethoven, enthralled by the cows,
The chickens and rabbits and sows,
Saw people all stare,
To just see him there,
So he stopped in his tracks and took bows!!

Janice Kelly, St. Louis Park, MN

A grandstand that's played by phenoms
Is not an attraction for moms.
Their kids, it is clear,
Would much better hear
A lullaby written by Brahms.

Ben Preece, St. Paul, MN

To John Cage, the Fair food did beckon
The avant-gardist went back for seconds
So as not to appear rude
He silently chewed
For 4 minutes and 33 seconds

Paul Madore, Apple Valley, MN

To the fair went Jacques Offenbach!
When a reporter stopped by and asked Jacques:
"Are you sometimes mistaken
for another's name taken?"
He proceeded to answer "often, Bach"

Paul Madore, Apple Valley, MN

The famous composer Fred Delius
said "I really must get an alias
So here at the big fair
I, who wrote 'Brigg Fair'
can stroll about completely anonymelious"

Paul Madore, Apple Valley, MN

In the Swine Barn, Bach started to sweat
As he crafted a two-part motet;
When his wig became moist,
He laughed and rejoiced,
For he'd gotten his State Fair 'do wet.

Chris Brunelle, Northfield, MN

There once was a composer named Bach,
And he went to the fair on a walk;
While waiting in line,
He wrote tunes so fine,
And the sight of him made people gawk.

David Kittell, Richfield, MN

Hungry Brahms went to the fair,
Hoping to dine while there.
A dog on a stick
He devoured real quick,
As he mulled over melodies rare.

Alexander Adams-Leytes, New Brighton, MN

A composer with Marsian glare
Dvorak came to attend the State fair.
Midwest spirit and art
Moved composer heart,
And he started romantic affair.

Vladimir Leytes, New Brighton, MN
