The Fair proved great fun for Tom Tallis
He'd eagerly visited Cow Palace
But alas, he would learn
Ren-Fest has next turn
So he might buy a new leather chalice

His hunger pangs needing to quell,
Ate cheese curds, Deep Fried!

There was a young man named Debussy
Who went to the State Fair with glee
His favorite trick
Was the food on a stick
It made quite an "impression," you see!

von Weber at the Fair

At the MPR booth sat von Weber
With no Fair song to show for his labor.
He pulled at his hair,
And cried out in despair,
"Oh, where is Ann Reed when you need her?"

Amaria, Shanna, and Kelsey O'Leary, Rochester, MN

A competitive man was Dvorak

Crying "Czech-mate!" which made Anton yack.

Who, alas, chose a day that turned rainy.
When the time came to sup,

And cried, "Yum, a cornbread covered weiny"

LeslieJo Meyerhoff, Cumberland, WI

In the midst of the State Fair craze

No weight loss was sighted
So Johann decided
That "Sheep May Safely Graze."

There was a composer named Gluck
Who really was down on his luck.
He took his au pair
to a booth at the Fair
And won prizes for shooting a duck

Last week to the Fair went Smetana
And brought home a french-fried banana;
He set it aside -
From his dog for to hide,
And now has a Moldau cabana.
