A famished old Igor Stravinsky
Was knoshing on good lox and blinski
When he lunged for a curd
He indigently heard
"Get back in the line you buttinsky."

David Atkinson, West St. Paul, MN

Don't eat! Young Schumann did shout
Till you've named this new work you put out
Said Schubert to Schumann
I don't know about you man
But I'm hungry, so please pass the trout.

David Atkinson, West St. Paul, MN

Erik Satie had formed a great notion
To find him a strong stomach potion
His trip to the Midway
Where all the rides did sway
Left his guts in perpetual motion.

David Atkinson, West St. Paul, MN

While Ludwig the Midway was crossing
A carnival man he was bossing
This ride is too presto
Please try some legato
Or my Sweet Matha's Cookies I'm tossing.

Valerie Atkinson, West St. Paul, MN

Haydn visited the food booths he relished
Soon like chords, his appetite diminished
Mini-donuts he thought
would sure hit the spot
But like Schubert he left them unfinished

Bruce Christensen, Duluth, MN

Rossini's great fame's not in danger,
To success, he's surely no stranger.
He composed William Tell
With its overture swell
What a gift from that great lone arranger!

Linda Isebrand, Lake Crystal, MN

Schubert at the Fair with a net
Was looking for friends who were wet
"To the fish pond!" he shout
and forgot about trout
and instead wrote the Muskie Quartet!

Jen Scott, Minneapolis, MN

Wagner thought he had died
Swallowing both cheese curds and German pride
Lying frozen and prone
In an Operatic tone,
He sung "Flight of the Valkeries" while on the Big Slide

Jen Scott, Minneapolis, MN

I went to the fair with Ravel
He wanted to ride carousel
But while in the pig barn
He slipped and he said, "Darn."
Guess where that is was into he fell.

C Petersen, Bloomington, MN

There was a composer named Peter.
Who at the fair proved a real big eater.
He loved things on Sticks,
And as he wrote Scheckle Mix.
He drank Lemonade by the liter.

Bruce Peters, Moorhead, MN
