Debussy the piano did play
Til he went to the State Fair one day.
He started to swoon
When he saw Clair de Lune
Stuffed at the DNR display.

Pam Goehring, Burnsville, MN

Though he was a musician at heart,
Something else intrigued Wolfgang Mozart.
To the State Fair he flew
With some corn and some glue
To create a sonata in crop art.

Pam Goehring, Burnsville, MN

With Stars and Stripes Forever,
being his greatest endeavor,
Sousa is my pick,
he'd put the Flag-on-a-stick,
Could we march and not eat? oh no never!!

Kathy Colling, Jordan, MN

On top of the Wheel of the Ferris,
rode a musical genius named Harris.
It squeaked and then stopped, leaving him on the top, this sure beats An Evening in Paris!!

Kathy Colling, Jordan, MN

When Georg Frideric visited the State Fair
he learned from the DNR there
that true H2O sound
in the land of 10,000 is found
(Hallelujah!) most everywhere!

Jennifer Morgan, St. Paul, MN

At Nelson and Judson that day
Scott Joplin decided to play.
But when Maple Leaf Rag
met with odors from Ag
on-air announcers were speechless. Oy vei!

Jennifer Morgan, St. Paul, MN

Beethoven went to see goats
Eating their hay and their oats
From his astute viewing
And their rythmic chewing
Came 18 hundred and 12 perfect notes

Doug Thompson, Clearbrook, MN

Lizst ate all the curds at the fair
Which gave us a terrible scare
When he fell to the ground
We gathered around
But decided we just didn't care

Doug Thompson, Clearbrook, MN

Johann Pacabel came horses too see
And saw Clydesdales housed in Barn B
Barn A had grey dapples
B was stuffed full with apples
With a large horse-drawn cannon in D

Thomas Lovett, Stillwater, MN

Ludwig gulped down his malt with a flair
And quickly looked round for a chair
As he sat there, head spinning
He confessed, broadly grinning
That malt was Beethoven's Ninth of the Fair

Thomas Lovett, Stillwater, MN
