Minnesota Public Radio Celebrates 40th Anniversary Statewide with Free Coffee and Cookies, Free Bus Transportation and Open Houses

Minnesota Public Radio, the largest station-based public radio producer in the nation, celebrates 40 years of engaging audiences with a series of events around Minnesota:

Friday, January 19, 2007
Drive-time drive-through: free coffee and cookies
The first 400 people to stop by any of the following locations on Friday, January 19 between 6:30-8:30 a.m. will get a free cup of coffee and a special 40th anniversary cookie:

40th Anniversary Open House

11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Join your favorite MPR on-air personalities for autographs, a self-guided walking tour, interactive studio activities and refreshments at the brand new, state-of-the-art UBS Forum, a place for interaction and dialogue. The first 1,000 guests receive a free commemorative poster, suitable for autographs during their tour of the building.

Just down the street at the Fitzgerald Theater, Dale Connelly and Jim Ed Poole of The Morning Show host free, family-friendly entertainment in three one-hour segments at the Fitzgerald Theater starting at noon. Watch the horn-driven rock band Auto Body Experience perform off-kilter songs and see fun film clips projected on a big screen.
