How to Submit your Fool for Love story:
No purchase or pledge necessary. Making a purchase or pledge will not increase your chances of winning this contest. Return on Monday, February 2, 2004 to enter. All entries must be received by 11:59 pm CT, February 12, 2004. Entries must be true and original to the author. One entry per person. Multiple entries, if discovered, will be disqualified. At Minnesota Public Radio's discretion, submissions may be posted on the MPR Web site and may be read on the radio.
Eligibility:
Anyone can enter the contest except persons who on or after June 15, 2003, were or are employees of American Public Media Group or its related organizations, their immediate family, or persons living in the same household. The contest is open to any United States resident age 13 or older. Void where prohibited by law.
Fool for Love Contest on the Web:
Minnesota Public Radio will post selected submissions on the Web site as they are received. MPR reserves the right not to post a submission.
Prize:
Two grand prize winners will be drawn at random. The winners will receive two tickets each to the My Foolish Heart event on Saturday, February 14, 2004 at the The Women's Club of Minneapolis. Retail value of this prize is $98.00. All transportation or other related costs are the responsibility of the winner. Four other winners drawn at random will receive one of the following: a $25 gift certificate to the Highland Grill in St. Paul, MN, or a $25 gift certificate to Cafe Latte in St. Paul, MN.
Submitted stories may be broadcast by Minnesota Public Radio and/or read or retold at the My Foolish Heart event.
Drawing and notification of winners:
Winners will be selected by random drawing on February 13, 2004. Winners may be notified by e-mail or telephone. The winning story may be broadcast on the classical music stations of Minnesota Public Radio on February 13, 2004 and will be available for viewing on www.mpr.org. If Minnesota Public Radio is unable to reach the winner or the winner is unable to accept the prize, the unawarded prize will go to the first back-up and subsequent backups thereof until the prize is awarded. The rules detailing contest eligibility and method of drawing winners are on file at Minnesota Public Radio. The chances of winning are dependent upon the number of entries.
General:
Participants agree to the Official Rules, and that Minnesota Public Radio, American Public Radio Media Group, and related organizations, and their agents and employees will have no liability whatsoever for any injuries, losses, or damages of any kind resulting from their use of the prize or their participation in the contest. Participants also agree to grant Minnesota Public Radio and Minnesota Monthly magazine the right to use their My Foolish Heart Contest submission, name, image, or other likeness without further compensation for advertising, fundraising or promotional purposes. Taxes and other expenses are the responsibility of the winner. All entries become the property of Minnesota Public Radio and may be read on the air or published in print or electronic form. Entrants agree that their names may be used in association with their submissions. Entrants warrant that their submissions are a true story and their own original work.
Restrictions:
By participating in the contest, a participant agrees to be bound by these Official Rules, and by all decisions of the contest judges.
