Classical Minnesota Public Radio to Broadcast the Minnesota Orchestra from London

(St. Paul, Minn.) February 24, 2009—Classical Minnesota Public Radio® today announced it will record for broadcast the Minnesota Orchestra's upcoming concert at London's Barbican Centre. The broadcast, hosted by Brian Newhouse, will air Friday, Feb. 27 at 8 p.m. on Classical Minnesota Public Radio stations throughout the region, including KSJN 99.5 FM in the Twin Cities, and can be streamed online at www.mpr.org/classical.
The Minnesota Orchestra will be performing in London as part of its two-week, eight-city tour of Europe from February 24 through March 5. The tour opens with a performance at London's Barbican Centre that features John Adams' Slonimsky's Earbox, Barber's Violin Concerto with Joshua Bell and Beethoven's Symphony No. 3. Since 1974, Minnesota Public Radio has broadcast the Minnesota Orchestra's Friday night concerts from Orchestra Hall in Minneapolis.
