MPR Family Movie Party to feature the funniest silent shorts of Buster Keaton March 7 at the Fitzgerald Theater

When: 7 p.m. Saturday, March 7

Where: The Fitzgerald Theater, 10 E. Exchange St., St. Paul. 651-290-1221.

Tickets: $10; $6 for children under 16.

What: Minnesota Public Radio will present a great big family movie party at the Fitzgerald Theater on March 7. The evening will feature the funniest silent shorts of Buster Keaton, accompanied by the theater's Mighty Wurlitzer Organ. A Prairie Home Companion sound effects man Tom Keith will add his audio acrobatics to the clever cinema stunts. The evening will be hosted by MPR's Movie Maven Stephanie Curtis.

Keaton's cinema shorts to be shown: "One Week," "Cops," "The Boat," "The Playhouse," "The Boat," and "The Scarecrow."

At intermission, the Keane Sense of Rhythm troupe will showcase American tap dance inspired by the early 1900s.
