Minnesota Public Radio News Announces Changes to Its Saturday Afternoon Schedule Starting February 7

Lineup includes new program, Midmorning Weekend, plus an additional broadcast of Wait Wait... Don't Tell Me and a new time for This American Life

(St. Paul, Minn.) — January 29, 2009—On Saturday, February 7, Minnesota Public Radio News will launch a new Saturday afternoon schedule. The lineup will include a new show, Midmorning Weekend—which features the best interviews from Midmorning with host Kerri Miller.

"We will choose two or three of the best conversations from Midmorning, pick the most revealing moments, and put them together to create Midmorning Weekend," said Kerri Miller, host, Midmorning. "I'm excited to add this new, strong, local presence to our weekends, and to give our audience more access to some of our best original content."

The lineup will also feature an additional broadcast of the nationally distributed Wait Wait... Don't Tell Me! and a new time slot for This American Life.

Saturday afternoon schedule, effective Saturday February 7
Tune in: The new lineup will air on all Minnesota Public Radio News stations, including KNOW 91.1 FM in the Twin Cities.

  • Noon Wait Wait... Don't Tell Me! (This broadcast will repeat at 2 p.m. Sundays.)


  • 1 p.m. This American Life (A new time, moved from 3 p.m. Saturdays. The show will also repeat at 8 p.m. Sundays.)


  • 2 p.m. The Splendid Table (No change. The show will also continue to rebroadcast at 6 a.m. Sundays.)


  • 3 p.m. Midmorning Weekend (new show)


  • NOTE: Noon-2 p.m. was the time slot previously held by Weekend America, which ends production on January 31.
