Minnesota Public Radio's Broadcast Journalist Series Welcomes NPR's John Ydstie February 23

WHEN: 7 p.m. Monday, February 23.
WHAT: Minnesota Public Radio welcomes NPR's John Ydstie for this installment of the Broadcast Journalist series. Ydstie's esteemed coverage of the current recession and federal economic recovery plans is backed by two decades of reporting on the economy, Wall Street and federal budget issues. Ydstie will be hosted at this event by Minnesota Public Radio's Kerri Miller.
Ydstie was born in Minneapolis and is a graduate of Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota. An accomplished journalist, Ydstie was part of the NPR team that received the George Foster Peabody for its coverage of the September 11th terrorist attacks. Ydstie's reporting from Saudi Arabia helped NPR win the Alfred I. duPont-Columbia University Award in 1991 for coverage of the Gulf War. Prior to that, Ydstie was a reporter and producer at Minnesota Public Radio. While there, he was awarded the Clarion Award for his report "Vietnam Experience and America Today."

Minnesota Public Radio's Broadcast Journalist Series commissions journalists and correspondents for a 24-hour residency four times a year. While here, they share their insights on their craft as well as on people and events that affect them professionally.
