What: 89.3 The Current, from Minnesota Public Radio, will present Rock the Cradle at The Children's Theatre Company and Minneapolis Institute of Arts (MIA) campus on Sunday, January 25, 2009. Rock the Cradle is a free day of family friendly music, fun and community involvement for kids and their grown-ups.
Now in its fourth year, Rock the Cradle has become one of the most popular family rock 'n' roll events in the Twin Cities, with nearly 10,000 attendees last year. The list of activities and musical guests is bigger than ever this year.
Attendees will find baby yoga classes, presented by Blooma; story time with The Current DJs; a live musical performance from Jeremy Messersmith ; and MacPhail Center for Music's instrument petting zoo. There will be an artistic scavenger hunt and art carts placed throughout the galleries for hands-on enjoyment of the museum.
The Children's Theatre will again host the extremely popular Kids' Disco and the Kids On The Air activities. The Theatre's McGuire Performance Space, in the lower-level education wing, will feature live interactive musical performances from Baby Fun Time and Sam Keenan with Shark Sandwich. (The performance space has limited seating, so participants will have to pick up tickets at the info booth prior to the performance; all other activities are open and accessible to all.)
