Minnesota Public Radio invites listeners to MPR Advocates Network meet-up in Duluth

(St. Paul, Minn.) August 13, 2008— Minnesota Public Radio listeners and members of the general public are invited to a meeting of the Minnesota Public Radio Advocates Network on Tuesday, August 19 at the Midi Restaurant at the Fitger's Inn and Brewery Complex in Duluth. This event is an opportunity to connect with senior staff members and learn more about the station's efforts at the Minnesota Legislature and with Congress to increase funding for public broadcasting.
The event will feature a welcome from Tom Kigin, MPR's executive vice president, with a briefing about current MPR public affairs issues. In attendance will be Duluth's Regional Development Advisory Council (RDAC) chair Jo Ann Hoag, along with other RDAC members. Refreshments will be served.
The MPR Advocates Network supports the work of Minnesota Public Radio at the Minnesota State Legislature and with the U.S. Congress. For more information, visit www.mpr.org/advocates.
