Dan Chouinard returns with the successful Café Europa II on May 31, a night of cabaret, storytelling and the spirit of European travels

May 8, 2008

WHAT: Dan Chouinard returns to the Fitzgerald Theater with the second installment of his musical memoir trilogy Café Europa, a travelogue for bicycle and accordion. The show comes out of Chouinard's summer spent bicycling Europe with tent and accordion, and features a cast of his favorite musician friends to share an evening of music and storytelling. They'll explore the musical byways of the Old World, from majestic cathedral to street cafe, from crowded train car to raucous bar.

Chouinard has built a reputation as a gifted pianist, accompanist and musical director. A veteran of Nye's Piano Bar and the creator of the live radio series The Singer's Voice, Chouinard has also appeared on A Prairie Home Companion and The Morning Show.

He will be joined by an all-star cast: Soprano Maria Jette, musician Peter Ostroushko, the Rose Ensemble, Composer Dirk Freymuth, Chanteuse Josette Antomarchi, the Brass Messengers and renowned bassist John Munson.

WHERE: The Fitzgerald Theater, 10 E. Exchange St., St. Paul
