NPR's Bob Garfield has been a columnist for USA Today and contributing editor for Civilization and the Washington Post Magazine. He has also written for The New York Times, Playboy, Sports Illustrated and many other publications. The prolific Garfield is also the author of two books, "And Now a Few Words from Me," a look at the best and the worst in contemporary advertising; and the collection "Waking Up Screaming from the American Dream." Garfield co-wrote "Tag, You're It," a song performed by Willie Nelson, and also wrote an episode of the short-lived NBC sitcom Sweet Surrender. Garfield's radio broadcast career began with his position as longtime commentator and correspondent for NPR's All Things Considered.
