The Current and Free Yr Radio Partner to Host Live Broadcasts and Band Performances from SXSW 2008 in Austin, Texas

(St. Paul, Minn.)—February 25, 2008— From March 13-15, The Current will broadcast live from the streets of Austin at the Free Yr Radio Broadcast Corner, located in the heart of this year's South by Southwest music festival (SXSW). An official SXSW event, the three days of live broadcasting will take place at the corner of 7th and Red River. The event is free and open to the public—no SXSW badge or wristband required.
The Current's award-winning DJs Mary Lucia, Mark Wheat and Bill DeVille will host guest band appearances and provide festival coverage beginning at 11 a.m. CST throughout the broadcast. From indie rock to electronica to hip hop, the broadcast will give its live audience and radio and Web listeners a peerless sampling of the festival.
Broadcast schedule
March 13-14 with hosts Mark Wheat, 11 a.m.-3 p.m.; and Mary Lucia, 3-6 p.m.
March 15 with host Bill DeVille 11 a.m.-6 p.m.
