Classical Minnesota Public Radio welcomes the return of King's College Choir to the Cathedral of Saint Paul on April 8, last presented in a sold-out holiday concert in December 2004. Tickets for the event go on sale to the general public at noon on January 9 and can be purchased by contacting the Fitzgerald Theater box office at 651-290-1221 or visiting www.fitzgeraldtheater.org.

King's College Choir has been part of Minnesota Public Radio's holiday broadcasts for more than 25 years with the annual broadcast of A Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols, the first trans-continental live broadcast of its kind, now heard on the radio by millions all over the world. The 32-voice men's and boys' choir owes its existence to King Henry VI, who envisaged the daily singing of services in his magnificent chapel.

Stephen Cleobury has been organist and director of music at King's College since 1982. As well as being dedicated to an approach to earlier music which is stylistically aware, Cleobury has commissioned many works for the choir from important contemporary composers. He has also been conductor of Cambridge University Musical Society since 1983 and was chief conductor of the BBC Singers from 1995 to 2007.
