KWRV 91.9 FM now offers more classical music
May 23, 2007
Starting today, American Public Media's Classical Music Service for Sun Valley-Ketchum will offer an all-classical format.
"We are excited that we can now provide nonstop classical music to our listeners in the Sun Valley area," said Sarah Lutman, American Public Media's senior vice president of Content and Media. "KWRV now gives classical music lovers even more of a reason to tune in each morning."
On weekday mornings, the station will now broadcast classical music hosted by John Zech from 5–8 a.m. The classical music programming replaces The Morning Show, a Minnesota-based program. The Morning Show is still available online through a live stream at www.mpr.org/thecurrent; previous shows are archived there as well.
KWRV's special classical music programming includes nationally distributed broadcasts such as Performance Today, SymphonyCast, Pipedreams and the Metropolitan Opera. There will be no change in the schedule to A Prairie Home Companion, which broadcasts live on Saturdays from 4–6 p.m. on Saturdays and again at 11 a.m. on Sundays.
