Minnesota Public Radio | American Public Media Announce Jana Kanyadan as New Chief Information Officer and Senior Vice President, Technology

Minnesota Public Radio and American Public Media announced today the appointment of its new chief information officer and senior vice president, Technology, Jana Kanyadan.

Kanyadan was most recently the global director for IT and e-Business with Eaton Corporation's Hydraulics Operations and Fluid Power Group based in Eden Prairie, Minnesota.

Kanyadan joined Eaton in 2003 from Ingersoll-Rand Corporation, where he was the technology leader for the International division located in Dublin, Ireland and, previously, the Commercial Security & Safety division located in Indianapolis. Prior to this role, he was director of information systems at Cummins, Inc. in Columbus, Indiana. In addition to these leadership positions in information technology management, Kanyadan has management experience in both design engineering and manufacturing.

"There are new and emerging digital technologies for radio and the Web, almost daily, and Jana's terrific experience, talents and leadership will be instrumental in helping us explore and take full advantage of new opportunities."

Kanyadan has an MBA from Duke University and a Master of Science with a major in Mechanical Engineering and a minor in Computer Science from Iowa State University. He holds a Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Regional Engineering College in Trichy, India. He, his wife and their two children live in Prior Lake.
