Minnesota Public Radio | American Public Media Names Two New Development Professionals to its Staff, Deborah Brown and Dianne Krizan

April 16, 2007

Minnesota Public Radio | American Public Media has named Deborah G. Brown as its new director of individual major gifts and Dianne Krizan as its new senior administrative director, both in Development.

"It's quite a coup to have secured two such accomplished and experienced development professionals," said Jon Gossett, senior vice president, Development. "Dianne and Deborah's combined expertise will play a major role in helping to find the resources for implementing the company's vision and serving an even broader audience."

Deborah G. Brown has more than 19 years of major gifts experience. She is the former vice president of philanthropic funding for Twin Cities Public Television, where she led a seven-person team and was responsible for $2 million in annual general operating support and additional projects. Previously, she worked as director of planned, major and centennial gifts for the Minnesota Orchestra for 17 years, where she was responsible for increasing the Orchestra's planned giving society to a record 263 members and future gift expectancies to $32 million.

Dianne Krizan comes to MPR with 20 years of leadership experience after having served as director of development for Way to Grow, a nonprofit organization that provides school readiness for low-income children in Minneapolis. She was responsible for growing private donations by 300 percent in less than two years and developing an individual donor campaign from scratch, growing donations by 3,000 percent. Previously, Krizan served as director of research and development and director of innovation at General Mills and as director of new platform development at Pillsbury Company.
