WHAT: Minnesota Public Radio is proud to host a production of Chicago Public Radio's This American Life: "Listen to the TV."

The wildly popular public radio show This American Life (TAL) is performing a live version of its radio program at the Orpheum Theater in Minneapolis on Wednesday, February 28. Host Ira Glass and popular TAL contributors Sarah Vowell (author of Assassination Vacation), Dan Savage (author of several; books and the sex advice column "Savage Love"), author David Rakoff, and director for This American Life television series Chris Wilcha will tell stories about the lessons they learned from watching television. The show will also feature a special guest band, Mates of State.

As always with This American Life episodes, the stories for this show will be funny, surprising, inventive and funny—really funny. Ira Glass will talk about the last year he's spent making a TAL television show for the Showtime network. He will also show special sneak preview clips and behind the scenes footage from the new television show.

The show offers a rare storytelling event. Over the years, Minnesota Public Radio has presented Ira Glass' solo presentations, but this is the first TAL show trip ever to Minnesota.

Various versions of this live TAL performance will be visiting other cities nationwide, including Los Angeles, New York, Boston and Chicago. The national tour is co-presented by Direct-TV.
