Classical Minnesota Public Radio Offers Valentine's Day E-Cards

January 17, 2007

Beginning January 29 and lasting through Valentine's Day, Classical Minnesota Public Radio will offer a unique and fun way to spread the love through e-cards that feature a link to one of 14 of the most romantic pieces of classical music.

Classical Love Notes feature MPR's classical music hosts, including John Birge, Melissa Ousley, Steve Staruch and others, who have selected 14 of their favorite romantic classical pieces for audiences to listen to, read about and share online at www.mpr.org/classical. Audiences can choose their favorite musical selection and send it to a loved one by way of a link in a customized e-card.

Prizes are available for participants: both the sender and the recipient will be entered in a drawing to win a romantic night in downtown Minneapolis, including lodging at the Graves 601 Hotel, dinner at Spoon River and a show at Theatre de la Jeune Lune.

On Valentine's Day, all 14 classical pieces will be featured on air in a countdown to the most popular piece. Listeners can tune in to Classical Minnesota Public Radio stations statewide, including KSJN 99.5 FM in the Twin Cities.
