Minnesota Public Radio presents a town hall forum, free and open to the public: "Confronting Climate Change" on Friday, January 26, 7–8:30 p.m.

With the scientific data on global climate change so widely available, why do some nations' governments take action while others deny that a problem exists? A conference, "Fixing Global Warming," at the University of Minnesota on January 25-26 will bring together social scientists from around the world to investigate the sociology behind the global response to climate change.

Midmorning host Kerri Miller will moderate a discussion of scientists participating in the "Fixing Global Warming" conference. The guests and participating audience will explore how governments are responding to climate change and the degree to which those responses are rooted in scientific fact. This event will be streamed live online and recorded for potential broadcast.

This event is free and open to the public. Reservations are required. For more information and to register for this event, visit www.mpr.org and click on Events.
