As part of a series of healthcare-related conferences and forums, Minnesota Public Radio presents a town hall forums, free and open to the public: "A Dignified Life: Providing for Long-Term Care" on Tuesday, January 16, 7–8:30 p.m.

The complex personal and financial decisions concerning long-term care are of concern to Minnesotans. Demand for long-term care will increase with the aging of Minnesota's population. Over the next decade, many families will face the challenge of providing a dignified and appropriately independent lifestyle for their elderly or disabled loved ones.

Much of the burden for long term care falls on the Medicare system and private insurance policies. Both the government and private insurers tend to favor institutional care over home-based services, while aging Americans are demanding more choices in how—and where—they receive services.

Join former state human services commissioner Kevin Goodno, Ecumen CEO Kathryn Roberts, health care providers, recipients and concerned members of the general public for these discussions on the direction of health care coverage in Minnesota.
