Minnesota Public Radio Presents a Wealth of Events for the Holiday Season

WHAT: Some cannot wait for the holiday season, while others cannot wait until it's over. Acknowledging that the holidays affect everyone differently and that audiences always deserve original programming, Minnesota Public Radio has planned a holiday season full of unique events meant to lift spirits in creative ways.

Saturday, November 25
Anonymous 4 with Darol Anger and Scott Nygaard
8 p.m.
The Fitzgerald Theater, 10 E. Exchange St., St. Paul
A Thanksgiving concert of Americana music with vocal ensemble Anonymous 4, GRAMMY®-nominated fiddler Darol Anger and guitarist Scott Nygaard.

Friday, December 8
Holiday Stage Session with Bill Holm

An eclectic holiday show from this Minnesota poet and author with host Heather McElhatton. They will be joined by an array of guests, including RD Zimmerman, John Altenberg, Karen Paurus, Nirmala Rajasekar, Frenchy's Big Bang Burlesque Band, Charlie Parr, Brooks Peterson and Adrianne Lenker.

Rock the Cradle

The Children’s Theatre Company and Minneapolis Institute of Arts campus

Rock the Cradle is a free family day of music, fun and community. Designed for children ages 2 - 8 and their families, Rock the Cradle provides entertainment and educational opportunities with lots of hands-on activities and rambunctious good fun. Attendees can dance in a kids disco, try their hand at scratching records, hear themselves "on the radio," play around in MacPhail's musical petting zoo, make music-oriented art projects, and hear The Current's DJs read from their favorite kids books.

Robin & Linda Williams and Their Fine Group

Peter Ostroushko Heartland Holiday Concert
