Mary Nease Named Senior Vice President of Human Resources for American Public Media Group

(St. Paul, Minn.) August 2, 2006—Mary Nease has been named senior vice president, Human Resources for American Public Media Group, parent company of Minnesota Public Radio and American Public Media, effective September 1, 2006.

Nease will provide senior leadership to the Human Resources team that serves all employees of Minnesota Public Radio, American Public Media, its national distribution division, and its sister station, Southern California Public Radio.

"Mary's background, vision and experience make her the ideal person to lead this important area of our organization moving forward," said Bill Kling, president and CEO of American Public Media Group. "We have made significant strides in strengthening our Human Resources department in recent years. Mary will continue that 'upward trend.'"

Nease was most recently vice president of Corporate Human Resources for St. Paul Travelers, formerly The St. Paul Companies. She had responsibility for Staffing & College Relations, Employee Relations, Learning & Development, and human resources generalist support of all corporate functions including Finance, Investments, Legal and Corporate & Information Services. Nease came to The St. Paul Companies in 1999 as Human Resources manager supporting Commercial Lines. Prior to that, she worked for US Bancorp Piper Jaffray, a regional broker dealer, where she led human resources generalist and staffing functions.

Nease earned a bachelor's degree in business from the University of Wisconsin — Madison. She is a director of Women Venture, a non-profit economic development agency for women providing business development and career planning services throughout the Twin Cities metropolitan area.
