Running through the mall
on a December Saturday.
Mommy keeps saying NO!
Baby's crying all the way! wa! wa! wa!
Horns on minivans honk
fighting for parking space!
What a drag it is to go and shop
at the mall today!

Chorus:
Christmas sales, Christmas sales,
Santa's on his way!
Oh what a pain it is to shop
on a December Saturday! Hey!

The line to Santa is long.
I've been good all year long!
My wish list is in hand.
I can't wait anymore! wa! wa! wa!
Santa hears my wish
and tells me to be nice.
I ask him to lose some weight
so Rudolph can fly!

Shopping bags are full,
the mall is nearly closed.
Just one more gift to buy
before we can go home! wa! wa! wa!
The parking ramp is dark.
our shopping is all done
What a pain it is to go shopping
on a December Saturday!

McKenzie, 7, Brainerd, MN

Speeding through the snow,
To Grandma's house - we're late!
My brother and I know,
We have an awful fate.
All of them are there
Just waiting to attack.
Our relatives who give us chills
Have once again come back.

CHORUS:
Oh, uncle Bob, cousin Lynn
Grandma Betty Sue.
When will my parents ever know
the torture I go through, Oh!
Sarah, Bill, Clara, Dick
the names go on and on.
I really dread this time of year
'cuz visits are so long.

I got out of the car
To find them all around.
Everyone from Gail to Stan
Came at me with a bound.
With lots of crushing hugs
And sloppy kisses too.
I was pulled out of the freezing cold
Into the family zoo.

CHORUS

Grandpa Jerry lectured me
On how to milk a goat.
Aunt Suzie gabbed forever 'bout
A hole in her wool coat.
They said the strangest things
From aardvarks to the rain.
My relatives did not shush up
I thought I'd go insane.

CHORUS

After jabbering all night
We finally said farewell.
We climbed into our car
And drove away pell-mell.
I love my family lots
But there is truth to hear.
I hope I am far, far away
At Christmas time next year.

CHORUS

Michelle, 13, Maple Grove, MN

Dashing down the stairs,
with my teddy bear,
Wondrin what I'll get
from Jolly Santa, yet.
Sugar plums have been
dancin in my head,
Will my dreams come true,
and will they too for you?

*Chorus*(2 times)
Christmas Cheer, Christmas Cheer,
Only once a year,
Jingle Bells and Caroling,
Music to my ears!

I spoke a prayer last night,
I then turned off the light,
There was a noise somewhere,
It was comin from up there.
Way upon the roof,
I knew I heard some hooves,
Then I heard a "HO HO HO"
and off that Santa goes!

*Chorus*(2 times)

K, 12, Chanhassen, MN

Diving off the board,
dribbling down the court,
sliding into home,
how did this all start?
I'm loosing all my teeth,
my hair is falling out,
I'm in such a mess,
I think I'm going to pout!
Oh
Sport are fun sports are fun,
but I've had to much.
Sports all day sports all night,
don't have time for lunch.
Sport are fun sports are fun,
but it's gone too far.
Gym to gym and in between
all I see is the car.
Hey!

Dashing through the sand on the California beach
Riding all the waves shouting all the way go, go, go
Lifeguards whistles blow making people go
What fun it is to splash and swim until you have to go

Oh

Walk around walk around walk around all day
There's more to do than just feel blue so come and shout hooray!!
Sand and sun sand and sun sand and sun all day
So come and surf with old man Zerf we'll be in water all day

Verse 2

Hanging up my stocking on a cold and snowy day
To the Christmas tree I go
Singing all the way la, la, la
C.D.'s playing carols
Making people sing
What fun it is to open gifts that have a joyful ring

Oh

Joyful day joyful day joyful all the way
Hopes and wishes and some kisses
And some holidays

Joyful day joyful day joyful all the way
Hopes and wishes and some kisses
And some holidays.

Abigail, 9, Apple Valley, MN

CHORUS
Rip Rip Tear!
Rip Rip Tear!
Rip them open fast!
Oh, I can't wait to see inside,
I am having such a blast!!

VERSE
Yellow, green, and red,
Wrapping paper is so cool.
It has pictures of sleds,
It makes me want to drool!

Maybe it's a bike,
Maybe it's a doll,
Maybe it is money,
I'll go shopping at the mall!!

OHHHHH, (CHORUS)

Sydney, 8, Lakeville, MN

Teachers Smell
Dashing up to school
in a crowded yellow bus
I am on my way
to the smelliest room

At 11:00 I get to go to gym
Smelly shoes and sweaty
shirts are better than my
room Ohhhh

Jingle bells teachers smell
like a rotten egg
So I try to hold my
nose all through the day Hey!

Jingle bells teachers smell
like a rotten egg
So I try to hold my nose
till I faint away

Alayna, 9, Lakeville, MN

Christmas Ornaments,
Very pretty lights,
Let's decorate the hall,
And make it very bright,
What about the wreath,
It is very green,
Hanging on the wall that has bright lights that never fall.
Oh. . .
Ring bring bring,
Ring bring bring,
Christmas day hooray,
Relatives on the way an extra day to stay. Hey!

Get the sleds,
That are red,
I'm getting out of bed,
Ow my head,
You have led me to the wrong bed.

Christmas ornaments,
Very pretty lights,
Let's decorate the hall,
And make it very bright,
What about the wreath,
It is very green,
Hanging on the wall that has bright lights that never fall. Oh!

Snow flakes,
Snow flakes,
Now I need a break,
Time to see my cousin Blake,
I have nothing to take.

A-choo,
A-choo,
Oh no I've got the flu,
I am feeling a little blue,
But please don't get the glue.

Christmas Ornaments,
Very Pretty lights,
Let's decorate the hall,
And make it very bright,
What about the wreath,
It is very green,
Hanging on the wall that has bright lights that never fall!
Oh. . .
Ring bring bring,
Ring bring bring,
Christmas day hooray,
Relatives on the way an extra day to stay. Hey!

911,911, 911 has come
And riding in an ambulance is so much fun fun fun
911,911, 911 has come
And riding in an ambulance is so much fun fun fun

Dashing through the snow in a pair of broken skis
Over the hills we go, crashing into trees
The snow is turning red, I think I'm almost dead
Now I'm in the hospital with stitches in my head

Oh, 911, 911, 911 has come
And riding in an ambulance is so much fun fun fun

Nate, 10, Lakeville, MN

Driving down the road,
It's slippery, slippery wet
I almost ran over a toad,
So please don't let me fret.

Christmas is almost here,
So give out a great, big cheer,
Santa Claus is near,
So please don't let me have a tear.

Oh,
Santa Claus, Santa Claus
Santa's almost here,
Oh I know what he'll do,
he'll eat me for a meal.

Oh,
Santa Claus, Santa Claus,
Santa's almost here,
Oh I know what he'll do,
he'll eat me for a meal.
