To the tune of: "Hark! The Herald Angels Sing"
Deck the house with bright lights,
So they'll glow in the nights.
Lots of food and lots of cake,
Then we'll go to every lake.
Food is good like our pies,
But not good for your thighs.
Then we'll have fun and games,
So we'll go to our dames.
Deck the house with bright lights,
So they'll glow in the nights.

John Fuchs, Grey Eagle, MN

To the tune of: "Hark! The Herald Angels Sing"
Hey! Look at all the shopping,
Mom's and dad's heads are popping,
Not sure what to buy for Bobby,
But Suzi wants a Barbie.
See the big long check out line,
Buy great gifts so on one whines,
Shopping till the men are dropping.
I just love Christmas shopping,
Hey! Look at all the shopping,
Mom's and dad's heads are popping,

Elizabeth Schneider, Swanville, MN

To the tune of: "We Wish You a Merry Christmas"
We Want You To Have A Good Time
We want you to have a good time
We want you to have a good time
We want you to have a good time
This Christmas year

CHORUS:
Good present she brings,
To you and your friends.
Good presents for us,
This Christmas year.

Alexis Johnson, Burtrum, MN

To the tune of: "We Wish You a Merry Christmas"
There is a Santa Claus
There is a Santa Claus
There is a Santa Claus
So bring us some toys

He comes today
To bring us some pay
For we all are glad
For him to stay

Hilda Bartkowicz, Bowlus, MN

To the tune of: "Hark! The Herald Angels Sing"
Verse 1
Push and shove your way through Wal-Mart,
bite and claw to fill your cart.
Start a stampede for the TVs, video games,
and then the CDs.

Joyous oh this shopping day is.
Use a Visa, defer the payments.
Forget the reason for the season.
Buying many gifts is the thing to do.
Quantity not quality,
that's the way to make your kids love you.

Verse 2
Shopping lines are growing longer,
tempers they are running hot.
This kid's crying, that kid's whining,
what a bunch of little snots.

Joyous oh this shopping can be.
Where's my list? I'm going crazy.
Socks again for everyone,
no one ever said this should be fun.
Where is Santa when we need him?
Will I ever get this shopping done?

Verse 3
Here we are this final hour,
out of money, need a shower.
Out of time, there's no more shopping.
Put away the credit card.

Grab that fruitcake and a nut log.
Baskets full of meat and cheese.
Load the car with several canned hams,
can we really eat these awful things?
What to get for Uncle Elmore,
Chia Pets galore, who could ask for more?

Nancy Strege, Falcon Heights, MN

To the tune of: "Hark! The Herald Angels Sing"
Santa's big and loveable,
He is very huggable.
Santa Clause is filled with cheer,
And so are all of his reindeer.
We love to open presents,
We shoot all of the pheasants.
All our soldiers are in Iraq,
We hope they can make it back.
Santa's big and loveable,
He is very huggable.

Ryan Holmberg, Upsala, MN

To the tune of: "We Wish You a Merry Christmas"
I want a lovely Christmas Day.
I want a lovely Christmas Day.
I want a lovely Christmas Day.
And a wonderful year.

Great gifts you have brought
To me and my friends.
Great gifts for Christmas
I love this holiday.

Vince Kokett, Little Falla, MN

To the tune of: "Hark! The Herald Angels Sing"
V1.
It's time to get out skates and sleds.
Winter's here Christmas is near.
Season's greetings all around
white snowflakes cover the ground.
Santa's waiting for the day he can drive his big red sleigh.
Make you lists and cookies too.
He'll give his gifts to me and you.
Be a good girl and boy, then you will get lots of toys.

V2.
Spread your cheer far and wide.
You'll feel good deep inside.
When Christmas day arrives children find a big surprise.
The tree is sitting in the room.
Lights are gleaming like the angels.
Presents spread on the floor.
Mistletoe hung on the door.
Christmas joy is the best gift, and that, my friends, is my wish.

Kelsey Rae Moehle, Sauk Rapids, MN

To the tune of: "Hark! The Herald Angels Sing"
Hark we shop until we drop,
Looking for that perfect gift
Walking through the malls & stores
Here and there for all the kids.
They want this and they want that
All I want is a nice warm hat
Where oh where did I see that coat
all warm and toasty just for me
Where oh where is the coffee shop
Time to rejuvenate myself.

Off I go to finish my list
Now I'm almost done with this
Time to bundle up and head on home
Christmas is best time spent with kids
Where oh where would I be without them
Hugs and kisses all day long
Children are the spice of life
We should remember them all year long

Holidays are about family
Getting together under the tree
Sharing presents and wishes and thoughts
Love to give and inmost wants
Here we are at the end of the year
Remembering those who to you are dear
Jesus was born that we might live
Here we go to church and pray
Hark the people all do sing
Glory to the newborn King.

Tami Gaudreau, Albert Lea, MN

To the tune of: "Hark! The Herald Angels Sing"
Here it is the Christmas season
Time to give...but what to do?
How can I - show Christmas passion?
Time to show - my heart loves true
There are those - with lots of money
Spend and spend and think that's funny
I prefer to give towards need
I don't like - the thought of greed
Give with love and with whole heart
Where to give? - here's where I'd start

First I'd help the cold and hungry
Help my church and fellow man
give a coat - salvation army
Help our where and WHEN I can
Donate time - Do this with pleasure
Give a toy a child would treasure
Help the lonely - be a friend
To earn a smile - no need to spend
Give MYSELF - my love I'd show
Love is free - to give and grow

Once I've given love to others
I would love - those close to me
Gifts of love to sisters and brothers
With presents wrapped so lovingly
I would hold my mother tender
Thank my god above who sent her
Cherish all I have in life
Love my kids - and Love my wife
With Christmas Angels smiling down
I'd pray to god - and love year round.

Ken Marth, Brooklyn Park, MN

To the tune of: "Hark! The Herald Angels Sing"
Uncle Harold sure can't sing!
His ev'ry note's a tortured thing.
Peace on Earth? Ha! That's a joke
when Uncle Harold starts to croak.
Save us from his fractured carols.
Our sanity's in mortal peril!
Ev'ry heart among us falls
when he breaks into "Deck the Halls."

On Christmas Eve, around the fire
Harold leads the family choir.
We'd love to get him looped on gin
and toss him gaily singing, in!
We'd sooner spoiled eggnog smite us,
our only hope is laryngitis.
Dear God, no more "Jingle Bells"!
This must be one of Dante's Hells.

Ma says, "You're no Nat Cole yourself,
you sing like some demented elf."
"You're throwing stones from your glass house,
you shouldn't act like such a louse!"
She's right, I ain't no Pavarotti.
'Tis not the season to be snotty.
So come on unk, let's bust a move,
and wow 'em with our cool Yule groove!

So come on unk, let's bust a move,
and wow 'em with our cool Yule groove!
